Customer Reviews

Good Customer Service
I ordered this product and was not able to take advantage of all its features. That apparently was my fault simply because I didn't realize what "tunerless" meant. The question then became one of returning it to the vendor. I was able to do that and I did receive my money back. What I look forward to whenever I purchase anything is good customer service. Mistakes can happen --- in this case, my mistake --- and products can be defective --- this one wasn't --- and the question then becomes: how will the vendor respond to the customer's problem? Good vendors always respond with good customer service. This one did, accepting that I had been at fault but, nonetheless, taking the product back, waiving a restocking fee, and returning my money. To sum up: in my mind good customer service is every bit as important as a good product at a good price. I am satisfied with the way this was handled and would not hesitate to purchase merchandise again via Amazon from this vendor. However, next time I will make sure I understand everything before ordering!

no closed captioning for vhs tapes
Because so many shows are copyright protected and unable to be copied on a DVD disc, we are still taping most of our shows on a VCR. This Samsung unit played well, but would not show closed captioning on a tape. It will on a DVD disc. I contacted the company and was told that they do NOT provide closed captioning for the VCR portion of the unit, only the DVD.
We are older and a little hard of hearing so the closed captioning is a necessity for us. I wish I had known this sooner and I would not have purchased this product.

the combo recorder functions well, it is simple to use and manual are difficult to understand. formatting of the discs is easy. however the recorder does not like the -dvd.

As It Should Be
First Rate!! Great Price, Fast Ship, Spot On Support.

I have recommended this new company to a friend and will be doing business with them in the future.

Keep up the good work.

Don't buy if you plan on dubbing !!!!!!!
My plight started with a refurbished unit which out of the box when I dubbed a VHS tape to a DVD the audio and video were not in sync.
Samsung suggested they repair the unit and after 2 repair tries sent me a new one. The new one did the same thing. Determined to get one that worked, I bought two more from a local store, both units had the same problem, the audio and video are out of sync. I have been playing with this model unit for 3 months and have tried every remedy that other folks who experienced the same problem with this unit tried, different speed DVD's x4, x8, x16, -R, +R, etc and different VHS tape to record from with no positive result.

Bottom line, if you are buying this unit to dub, DON'T BUY IT!
